Ellen....We Thought We Knew You!!!!!

But anyone using their celebrity status to force an organization, non-profit at that, to change and violate their own standing policies is wrong. Yes, yet another instance of celebrities expecting preferential treatment.

Though I do feel that the removal of Iggy from the home of Ellen's hairdresser could have been handled a bit more delicately, I believe it was justified. Animal Rescue organizations are not in any way like Animal Shelters. Rescue agencies strive to find APPROVED homes for dogs and cats, and the people who run these organization are obviously animal lovers above and beyond the call of duty. To start a non-profit organization for the sole purpose of rescuing an animal from homes that no longer want them, or where they are being abused, is a way of life for many of the people. Though I don't run an animal rescue agency, I have taken in more stray cats than I know what to do with. My partner and I get them spayed or neutered, make sure they are healthy and up to date on shots and medical needs, and then offer them to APPROVED homes, INDOOR homes only. And just as Mutt's and Mom's stipulate in their contract with adoptive "parents"; if they are unable to care for the animal, please bring it back, do not give it away to a non-approved home. This is exactly what I have done with my cats. If someone who takes a cat can no longer guarantee it has an INDOOR home, we ask that they please return the cat to us. Its not an unreasonable request, and I believe it is almost necessary to anyone giving away a pet they have come to know and love. I still have 9 cats because I cannot find acceptable homes, and I will keep them until I do, or forever if it comes to that (which I would prefer LOL).

Yes, I think it could have been handled more delicately....but, the end result was the right one in my opinion.

It upsets me that Ellen used national television to broadcast her breakdown when it was she and her partner who clearly violated the contact. And then to have her publicity agent leave a message for the owner of Mutt's and Mom's, telling her that she needs to return the dog or things will definitely "get worse" for, was not only a scare tactic, but blatant intimidation that we have come to expect from celebrities. I really never thought that Ellen, whom I ADORE, could sink to such a level.

Because of her nationally broadcast meltdown, the owner of Mutt's and Mom's has received so many threats, even death threats, that she has had to temporarily close her website, and has been forced to get the police involved. For what? For doing what she believed in. For wanting the best for the pets in her care. And because people love Ellen, they now want this woman dead. Give me a freaking break!

Ellen, you should be ashamed of yourself for making this what it now is. It could have been dealt with privately and not gone as far as it has. What a world this would be if we could all go on national television and have a breakdown whenever we didn't get our way....Oh, wait...that is reserved for celebrities...very few of of them, thank God.

Like I said, I love Ellen...but...she isn't looking good to many people right now, and she has brought it on herself.

Sorry...this is my opinion....

Was this video display even neccessary??????
